About The Job

Supply Chain Manager

The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for maintaining accurate daily, weekly, and monthly accounting of cannabis inventory, and facility and ancillary materials within the Goldkine value chain.

This role manages product and supply inventory, ancillary materials purchasing and intake, ensures that product expiration dates and quantities are being tracked and managed, and coordinates with department heads to ensure stocks and resupplies are forecasted and budgeted for.

Overall management and best practice implementation of all end-to-end supply chain functions.

What You'll Do

  • Direct team in schedule planning and materials management.
  • Support implementation and upkeep of inventory within company's ERP and inventory management system.
  • Develop an overall supply chain strategy and robust system for inventory levels including raw, work-in-process (WIP), and finished goods to meet inventory goals and support demand requirements.
  • Work with inventory team and departments to establish the optimum inventory levels of all products and ancillary materials to ensure on-time deliveries to meet customer requirements, minimizing carry costs and remove all gaps in production scheduling.
  • Coordinate the design and implementation of improved inventory management concepts and supporting systems and procedures, including implementation of Roshi, our ERP and supply chain tech system.
  • Coordinate and facilitate the reduction of obsolete and slow-moving inventory and ancillary supplies and establish procedures to ensure the accuracy of both physical and book inventory.
  • Collaborate with other functional managers in Cultivation, Production, Distribution, and Sales / Marketing to identify and address materials issues to process improvements and inventory accuracy.
  • Coordinate with other functional areas to responsibly monitor and manage raw materials and supplies delivery schedules to minimize costs and realize savings.
  • Develop a measurement / feedback system with key metrics to assess the performance of the inventory team.
  • Evaluate policies and procedures to ensure the accuracy of both physical and book inventory.
  • Coordinate multi-department collaboration to identify opportunities for synergy, best practice sharing, and the most cost-effective utilization of material resources.
  • Provide support, training, and mentoring to the materials and inventory team.
  • Train and develop the materials team to understand critical concepts, principles of lean, and world class materials management.
  • Ensure all company-required tools, programs and management systems are properly implemented and that documentation required to support programs and management systems are comprehensive and up to date.
  • Ability to lead communication, coordination, and negotiation efforts with third party vendors and suppliers and help mitigate cash flow risks.
  • Responsible for maintaining and updating Vendor and supplier contact list.
  • Adheres to consistent naming conventions and designs as needed.
  • Makes suggestions to improve business functions.
  • Anticipate future supply chain bottle necks and build a strategic, reliable vendor network to support growth and stay within timeline and budgets.
  • Take part in strategic planning and budgeting processes.

Requirements and / or Preference's

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management.
  • 5-7+ years of experience in supply chain and inventory management.
  • Preferred - strong knowledge and experience in cannabis industry.
  • Preferred - APICS certification.
  • Strong knowledge of demand planning / forecasting processes and techniques.
  • Strong knowledge of capacity planning techniques.
  • Military experience in supply chain and inventory a plus.
