Overview
The SIU Investigator reviews and investigates referrals to AmTrust SIU to evaluate for the potential of insurance fraud (perpetrated by claimants, insured, agents, brokers, providers). The SIU Investigator is the expert when it comes to building a line of defense against fraud. The SIU investigator is expected to act in accordance with AmTrust's mission, vision, and values.
Responsibilities
People :
Provide professional, timely and courteous communication and service to external clients and cross-departmental staff to successfully resolve issues pertaining to SIU and investigative referrals. Collaborate closely with underwriting, audit and claims personnel to evaluate all aspects of a referral and determine an investigative path, and document investigative plan. Build strong relationships with our team of internal adjusters and external vendors. Provide timely service to ensure investigation is moving forward.
Process :
Exercise exceptional process adherence to create consistent investigations yielding impact on the direction of the file. Lead investigation into combatting major case fraud. Evaluate investigative referrals to determine if suspicious elements are present and justify an SIU investigation. Conduct in-depth investigative searches via designated tools and conduct telephonic investigations to develop facts. Draft referrals to be submitted to state agencies when evidence is identified to indicate potential insurance fraud.

Understands and anticipates requirements and takes action to provide high-quality investigative services to exceed expectations. Ability to be a problem solver when issues arise and identify alternative solutions to continue to drive performance and results. Track and document all investigative activities and results. Demonstrates an understanding of the organization and its product / service offerings and leverages organizational values and relationships in ensuring tasks are accomplished. Perform other functionally related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Qualifications :
An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in criminal justice or a related field from an accredited college or university OR 5+ years of insurance claims investigation experience OR professional investigation experience with law enforcement agencies OR 7+ years of professional investigation experience.
