Mental Health Therapist I
Position Summary :
Join the Empowering Children with Hope and Opportunity (ECHO) department as a full-time
Mental Health Therapist I today! Staffed by licensed counselors & social workers, ECHO aids teachers and administrators in helping remove non-academic barriers to learning poverty, exposure to addiction, violence, discrimination, or physical and sexual abuse.
The Mental Health Therapist I will provide individual, group, family, and crisis counseling to
the student's in the schools served. The Therapist will be responsible to teach a Social and
Emotional program to all the classes in the assigned school. Assisting principals and
education staff in the best ways to handle challenging behavior.
Minimum Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, or a related field.
- Currently in the process of obtaining a Master's Degree in Counseling or Social Work with provisional licensure (Counselor Trainee or Social Work Trainee) in the State of Ohio and preparing to start practicum and / or internship.
- Experience working with diverse cultures.
- Valid driver's license and low-risk driving record and is insurable by the University.

- Experience working with school-age children in the K-12 setting.
- Demonstrated timely completion of work-related tasks.
- Knowledge of Catholic schools and their culture.
- Demonstrated successful experience working independently and productively.
- Demonstrated successful experience working as part of a team.
- Successful demonstration of flexibility in day-to-day activities.
- Demonstrated successful experience building and sustaining relationships and partnerships.

- Student in the counseling department at the University of Dayton.
