Chemical Operations Supervisor – Bromine Facility

Position summary

A confidential chemical manufacturer is seeking a Chemical Operations Supervisor to lead operations at its bromine production facility in West Memphis, Arkansas. This role oversees approximately 20 operators and is responsible for safe plant operations, regulatory compliance, and consistent production in a high-hazard chemical environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily bromine plant operations, ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and site-specific requirements.
• Supervise, train, and evaluate ~20 operators, fostering a disciplined, safety-first culture.
• Monitor processes and equipment to maintain efficiency, quality, and reliability.
• Review production logs, batch records, and maintenance reports; troubleshoot and resolve operational issues.
• Enforce strict hazardous materials protocols, including PPE use and emergency response readiness.
• Partner with Maintenance, Quality, and Engineering to minimize downtime and optimize performance.
• Track and report KPIs including production throughput, safety performance, and product quality.
• Lead or support incident investigations and corrective action planning.
• Oversee raw material, bromine product, and specialty fluid inventories.
• Conduct operator training, compliance audits, and regular safety meetings.
• Act as the primary escalation point for operational issues on shift.
