Applications Analyst
Location : Houston, TX
Pay Rate : $60 / hr
Shift : Monday-Friday, 8 AM-5 PM
Dean's Professional Services is actively seeking an Applications Analyst . This position serves as a training-focused analyst responsible for designing, delivering, and supporting education and enablement for end users across assigned ERP applications. The role develops and facilitates instructor-led and virtual training, creates training materials and learning plans tailored to various user groups, and provides ongoing support to ensure users understand system functionality, workflows, features, and best practices.
The Applications Analyst partners closely with business stakeholders, operational leaders, IT teams, and customers to assess training needs, identify user access requirements, develop and maintain documentation (workflows, test scripts, curriculum), and deliver high-quality learning experiences. This role blends system expertise with instructional design, effective communication, and strong customer service to ensure users are confident and successful in their use of the technology.
Responsibilities
Project Planning
Sets priorities, understands business and clinical applications, answers technical questions, and completes assigned tasks with moderate supervision.
Reason : Ensures efficient and effective support of information systems for MHHS.
Applications Development
Uses development tools to build and deploy queries, simple applications, moderately complex reports, and other business solutions.
Reason : Provides technical solutions that meet customer needs and enhance system functionality.
Analysis / Design
Translates customer requests into software application solution specifications for assigned tasks.
Reason : Implements business innovations that create sustainable competitive advantages.
Technical Administration
Maintains detailed technical knowledge of assigned applications.
Reason : Ensures accurate and current support of user needs and system functionality.
Communications
Demonstrates strong communication, planning, and interpersonal skills in tactical settings.
Reason : Supports accurate information gathering, analysis, and timely dissemination of knowledge.
Problem Solving
Identifies issues and communicates them to the Team Lead or Manager.
Develops options and recommendations.
Reason : Quickly resolves operational problems to minimize impact on end-user productivity.
Application Support
Assists customers in optimizing use of assigned applications and completing project-driven tasks.
Participates in after-hours support via a rotating on-call schedule.
Reason : Ensures continued operational efficiency of MH information systems.
Customer Service
Provides training, support, and problem resolution to customers.
Reason : Upholds excellent customer service and ensures users gain full value from the technology.
Qualifications
Experience / Knowledge / Skills
Industry training and increasingly responsible experience within a large, complex corporate Information System.
Basic working knowledge of application support, development tools, and methodologies.
Two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in systems development and implementation within large-scale Healthcare MIS environments, with exposure to system analysis, design, build, testing, and implementation (preferred).
