Responsibilities
- Develop a business‑aligned integration architecture strategy covering all aspects of integration (API, data, files, B2B, and more), ensuring designs adhere to security, compliance, and data governance standards (for example, zero trust architecture).
- Define a comprehensive API strategy focused on API‑first design principles, management, and marketplace enablement using modern platforms and protocols; develop a roadmap for business‑aligned APIs to be consumed by digital products.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive data integration architecture strategy, including support for both operational and analytical data integration use cases, and drive the adoption of best practices for secure, scalable, and efficient data integration across the enterprise.
- Support agentic AI or AI orchestration / consumption models by ensuring APIs and tools are usable by agents, including metadata, cataloguing, authorization, and interoperability; stay abreast of emerging technologies such as AI / ML integration, low‑code / no‑code platforms, MCP, and A2A integration patterns.
- Define and maintain reusable integration patterns for APIs (sync / async), microservices, pub / sub, and event‑driven architectures; establish an integration framework that supports legacy modernization and contributes to the development of integration governance frameworks, including API and event standards, data architecture policies, and system integration protocols.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders early in project lifecycles, recommending optimal integration approaches and technologies, and effectively communicate to influence ideas and proposals across all management and technical levels.
- Act with integrity, professionalism, and personal responsibility to uphold KPMG's respectful and courteous work environment.
Qualifications
Minimum ten years of recent, progressive experience with expertise defining integration strategies and architectures, hands‑on experience in API design and middleware technologies, driving SaaS and platform‑centric strategies in an enterprise environment.Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university is preferred; minimum of a high school diploma or GED is required.Deep understanding of application integration architecture strategies, including API lifecycle management, event‑driven design, and governance frameworks for managing a large‑scale integration portfolio, as well as data integration patterns such as canonical models, publish / subscribe, event sourcing, streaming, messaging, and synchronous vs asynchronous communication.Proven ability to establish and manage a comprehensive Application Integration Architecture Blueprint and Roadmap for a global organization; experience with API‑first design principles, API gateway, security, versioning, monitoring, Web Services, RESTful APIs, microservices, SOAP, JSON, and integration protocols including MCP or A2A for agentic AI use cases.Proficiency with Data Lake / Lakehouse, integration platforms and tools such as MuleSoft, Azure API Management, Kafka, Azure Data Lake, and other iPaaS, ESB, and messaging technologies; demonstrated ability to lead solution‑level technical design and architectural leadership, including integration blueprints, reference architectures, capability models, and supporting documentation; strong understanding of CI / CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and automation tooling for build, deployment, and testing; proven ability to successfully implement integration architectures in a complex organization for on‑premises and cloud applications globally such as ERP, CMDB, CRM, CMS, and others.Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the ability to influence ideas and proposals to all levels of management and technical expertise.KPMG is an equal opportunity employer.
