Sr. Director Development & Effectiveness

We have an opportunity at our corporate offices in Chicago for a Sr. Director Development & Effectiveness on our Human Resources team. This is a hybrid position requiring 3 days a week in the office. This position will lead the development and execution of organizational and talent management strategies and initiatives to support the vision, values, and key strategic goals of the AMA. Collaborate with senior leaders and HR business partners to enhance leadership, teams, and individual effectiveness. Creates strategies and initiatives to improve organizational effectiveness.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of a new performance management program system and process, which drives a culture of accountability, development, and high performance.
- Advise senior management on creating strategies and implementing interventions to facilitate organizational and culture change.
- Provide consultation on areas such as organizational planning and design, change management, and organizational effectiveness.
- Guide the design and delivery of programs that lead to enhanced organizational and individual performance including leadership and manager development.
- Lead, mentor, and provide management oversight for professional staff.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree required; master's degree preferred, in business / human resources / organizational development / Industrial / Organizational Psychology.Minimum 12+ years in Talent Management / Organization development field with at least 5 years' experience directing a Talent Management / Organization development function.Extensive knowledge and experience in leading process and system transformation.Experience creating and implementing talent management approaches, leadership development, change management and organizational development initiatives.Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and work with highly sensitive data and information.7+ years' experience in people management required; able to attract and develop talent.Demonstrated leadership ability to drive results as well as lead across the organization through influence and collaboration.Proven ability to build and implement long-term plans and roadmaps.
