As we continue to pursue new goals, it's an exciting time to join the Bragg team. We are currently hiring a Payroll Manager in our Long Beach, CA headquarters.
Key Responsibilities
- Payroll Administration : Manage accurate and timely payroll processing for 1000+ union and non-union employees, ensuring compliance with company policies and federal / state regulations.
- End-to-End Payroll Processing : Oversee weekly and bi-weekly payroll cycles, including wages, benefits, garnishments, and tax deductions.
- Regulatory Compliance : Ensure adherence to tax laws, wage and hour regulations, and labor agreements across multiple states.
- Tax Reporting & Reconciliation : Reconcile payroll tax payments and handle quarterly / year-end filings, including W-2s.
- Audit Support : Prepare documentation and reports for internal and external audits, including CPA reviews, Workers' Compensation, and union contract requirements.
Required Qualifications
Education : High School Diploma or equivalent.Experience : 7+ years of payroll experience, including 5+ years in a supervisory or management role.Payroll Knowledge : Strong understanding of union and non-union payroll, certified payroll, prevailing wage, CBAs, garnishments, and multi-state payroll requirements.Accounting & Tax Knowledge : Familiarity with accounting practices, payroll and employment tax laws.Leadership : Proven ability to lead teams, set priorities, and unify direction.Training & Development : Experience training and motivating staff in payroll processes, internal controls, and time management.Problem Solving : Skilled in identifying complex issues and implementing effective solutions.Technical Skills : Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MS 365 suite; advanced math, analytical, and data entry skills.Systems Experience : Experience managing payroll in multiple ERP systems; prior use of Dayforce (Ceridian).Soft Skills : Strong communication skills; ability to work well with others; attention to detail; ability to manage multiple projects under pressure.Preferred Qualifications
Education : Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field.Certification : Certified Payroll Professional (CPP).Technical Skills : Experience with payroll system integration.Work Environment
Location : Must be able to commute to Long Beach, CA headquarters as neededPhysical Conditions : Standard office environment with prolonged periods of sitting and computer use. May occasionally require standing or moving between office areas.What We Offer :
