Events & Group Operations Manager
The Events & Group Operations Manager will assist in generating revenue and driving business growth for the hotel. Background in hotel sales and event planning, with a focus on social events, small meetings and groups a plus.
Key Responsibilities :
- Act as the primary liaison for assigned groups, ensuring all room blocks, events, and food and beverage are detailed accurately and executed.
- Coordinate VIP requirements including riders, room drops, and room set ups.
- Proactively sell and contract catering and special event business while promoting the property's facilities and services to maximize revenue.
- Represent the property during site visits and pre-con meetings with clients.
- Coordinate rooming lists and reservation changes.
- Accurately obtain, collect, and track deposits and payments.
- Reconcile invoices and folios, ensuring accuracy and resolving discrepancies.
- Coordinate and lead BEO and group resume meetings.
- Prepare, send, and respond to proposals. Present custom options, negotiate rates, and manage catering and event contracts.
- Proactively source and secure new event business.
- Work closely with Sales to coordinate room blocks. Ensure accurate information is collected and entered in reservations systems and Delphi including group billing, and resumes
- Serve as the primary contact for group-related questions for the property team.
- Work closely with Food and Beverage for menu set up and execution.
- Maintain strong working knowledge of hotel operations, daily schedules, and departmental policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with other hotel departments to coordinate sales efforts, leverage resources, and maximize revenue-generating opportunities.
- Update Opera Cloud profiles to ensure guest information is accurate including arrival times, preferences, and biography details.
- Complete additional projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications :
Is self-directed, motivated and demonstrates intuitive customer service and interpersonal skills.Effectively communicates with internal and external customers, with a high level of patience, tact, and diplomacy.Communicates clearly, concisely, and openly in all interactions.Have exceptional attention to detail, organizational, analytical and time management skills.Multi-tasks and prioritizes in a fast-paced work environment.Exercises sound judgment evaluates situations and utilizes appropriate and creative resources to solve problems.Technologically savvy, with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Delphi, and Opera Cloud preferred.Background Requirements :
Bachelor's degree or certification in sales, business administration, or related field.2-4 years' experience in hotels, catering or event planningStrong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple events at once.Problem-solver who thrives under pressure and can handle last-minute changes with easeAble to work independently and as part of a team.Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules (including holidays and weekends) to reflect the business needs of the hotel.
Salary- $82,000 - $88,000 + Incentive
