Job Summary
The Food Service Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the food service program, ensuring established cost controls and quality standards are met to deliver superior service and maximize profitability. This individual will manage daily operations, support staff development, and partner with leadership to drive strategic initiatives that enhance efficiency and guest satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
Coordinate the tasks of Assistant Directors and Operations Managers.
Plan, organize, direct, and supervise departmental functions and activities.
Establish work standards, workflows, and implement policies and procedures.
Oversee the Micro Kitchen program, including product ordering, budget management, vendor coordination, and daily quality assurance walkthroughs.
HR & Staff Development
Support the General Manager with scheduling, performance feedback, and employee relations.
Assist with payroll processes to ensure accuracy and timely completion.
Utilize a participative approach to managing staff, fostering collaboration and accountability.
Guest Experience & Menu Oversight
Participate in daily menu reviews, with emphasis on allergen identification and labeling.
Partner with the General Manager to execute initiatives that improve efficiency and guest satisfaction.
Maintain excellent relationships with employees, guests, clients, and other departments.
Safety & Compliance
Direct and conduct safety, sanitation, and community maintenance programs.
Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation standards through inspections, staff training, and audits.
Additional Duties
Perform other responsibilities as assigned to support overall operational success.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in food service or operations management.
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Excellent stress management, administrative, organizational, and follow-through abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Ability to balance cost control with quality standards to maximize profitability.
