Function of Position :

Assist the staff in the daily operations of The MCC Bookstore

This is a Federal Work Study position. Eligible applicants MUST have received prior approval from the Financial Aid Office. If you are unsure of your eligibility, please contact Financial Aid before applying.

Examples of Duties & Responsibilities :

Performs general cashiering responsibilities accurately and efficiently

Greets and assists customers as they enter, browse, and exit the store

Monitors inventory, stocks shelves, and cleans where needed

Assists with receiving, pricing, and stocking incoming merchandise

Assists with stocking coolers, general cleaning responsibilities, and other duties as assigned

Assists with merchandising products and creating displays and signs

Assists with processing web orders

Provides additional assistance during special events / busy times including, but not limited to, the first week of classes and buyback

Remain knowledgeable about current sales or applicable discounts, and assist customers accordingly

Work as a team to provide an excellent customer experience

Job Requirements :

Required Qualifications :

Applicants must be Federal Work Study eligible (you can confirm your eligibility with a Financial Aid representative)

Highly self-motivated, disciplined, enthusiastic, detail-oriented, and able to multi-task.

Strong interpersonal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications :

Basic understanding of a retail environment.

Basic math, keyboarding, and data entry skills.

Bilingual and able to read, write, and speak Spanish, or other languages, proficiently

Additional Information :

Pay Rate : $15.50 / hour

Hours per week : Up to 20 hours / week
