Job Position Description :
Community Action is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Career Coach to join our team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed employment services to diverse individuals and families, including those identifying as LGBTQ+ and other non-traditional structures. Abbreviated Duties List :
- Provide comprehensive career coaching from initial assessment and goal setting to job coaching, soft skills development, and job retention services.
- Promote self-advocacy and provide co-advocacy for individuals to succeed in training and employment goals.
- Develop trust-based relationships with clients, maintaining professional and positive boundaries while working effectively with diverse social, economic, cultural, and racial backgrounds, as well as people with disabilities.
- Connect clients with essential support services (like transportation, financial literacy, and housing stability) and maintain current information on community resources.
- Work effectively with partners like Portland Community College, WorkSource, and other training providers.
- Ensure timely and accurate data entry in systems like HMIS and WorkSource, tracking and reporting outcomes related to self-sufficiency.
Abbreviated Requirements :
High school diploma or equivalent, with at least one year of case management experience, including maintaining accurate files and coordinating services with other agencies. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.Intermediate computer literacy (databases, spreadsheets, word processing).Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.Proven ability to manage multiple competing tasks and deadlines.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a cooperative member of a team.Capacity for reflective practice and awareness of self in relation to others.Demonstrated ability to establish trusting, professional relationships with clients and staff from diverse, marginalized, vulnerable, and / or low-income populations.Ability to set and maintain positive and professional boundaries.Requires reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and valid insurance coverage for a private vehicle.What Will Make You Stand Out :
Bachelor's Degree in Social Services or a directly related field.Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English (both oral and written) or another language reflecting the current Washington County population.Experience in social service programs serving low-income individuals in Washington County.How to Apply : Apply online directly at .
