???? Job SummaryQuickparts seeks a Senior SLA Engineer to oversee stereolithography (SLA) operations at our Seattle manufacturing facility. This role encompasses system setup, process optimization, production support, and post-processing workflow design for large-frame SLA systems such as 3D Systems and Stratasys NEO. The Senior SLA Engineer is critical in achieving world-class production quality, uptime, and throughput.
???? Key ResponsibilitiesSLA Operations & Process Optimization
Operate, calibrate, and optimize large-frame SLA equipment for dimensional accuracy, surface quality, and repeatability.Configure build parameters including resin type, exposure, layer thickness, and support structure strategies.Monitor production data and machine performance; analyze trends to improve yield, throughput, and cost.Maintain process control documentation and build setup standards.Pre-Processing
Prepare and optimize 3D build data using software such as Materialise Magics, 3DExpert, or SolidView.Perform geometry repair, wall thickness analysis, and part orientation for optimal success rate.Establish repeatable workflows for multi-part nesting and support generation.Post-Processing
Supervise post-processing steps including part cleaning, rinsing, UV curing, support removal, and finishing.Develop finishing procedures to meet cosmetic and dimensional standards.Collaborate with quality teams for inspection, verification, and documentation.Maintenance & Troubleshooting
Execute preventive maintenance and corrective repair activities on SLA systems.Troubleshoot mechanical, optical, or resin-related issues and coordinate with OEMs or internal maintenance.Manage resin and consumable inventory; track material utilization and waste reduction.Process Development & Continuous Improvement
Lead process improvement projects focused on cycle time, yield, and material efficiency.Document standard operating procedures (SOPs) and training materials.Support scaling of new materials and equipment introduction.Mentor and train technicians and operators to ensure skill development and adherence to standards.Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to ensure SLA operations support project timelines and customer requirements.Participate in technical reviews for new product introductions.Support customer audits and technical presentations as needed.Other Duties

QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Materials Engineering, or equivalent experience.Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience operating and optimizing industrial SLA systems in production environments.Experience with 3D Systems and Stratasys NEO large-format SLA systems.Proven track record working in a production setting, looking after a large fleet, and consistently meeting throughput and quality targets.Demonstrated expertise in pre- and post-processing workflow design.Strong understanding of photopolymer resin behavior, curing dynamics, and process interactions.Proficiency with build-prep software (Magics, 3DExpert, or equivalent).Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills.Strong ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting.????
