Job Description : The Senior Manager, Materials Management is responsible for the overall performance of Materials Management, developing strategies and tactical means to support Operations and the global supply chain while upholding safety, quality, delivery, and P&L (cost savings). The Senior Manager is responsible for developing and leading strategic objectives for the business, including but not limited to the Alternative Supplier Qualification program, material risk review, and technology / automation advancements. The Senior Manager manages a mixed team of people managers for warehouse and materials management, and individual contributors for Materials Planning. The Senior Manager is responsible for staff selection and hiring, setting performance expectations, performance assessment, training and staff development, and resolution of personnel issues for their organization of 40+ employees. The Senior Manager is responsible for staffing and capacity planning, establishing a yearly business plan, prioritizing operating activities to ensure all objectives are met, and driving positive employee engagement through all levels of the business unit. The team output includes on-time delivery of materials to meet manufacturing needs and on-time delivery of product to meet global supply requirements, while developing efficiencies and process improvements. Performance improvement output will include continuous improvement as measured by Key Performance Indicators, including but not limited to on time / in full delivery and on time / in full shipment metrics. Must work effectively cross-functionally and maintain partnerships with EH&S, Manufacturing, Quality, Facilities, Procurement, and Finance to achieve goals. The Senior Manager also works closely with site leadership to escalate issues, communicate performance levels, and develop site strategies to support business objectives.
