Job Summary

The Supervisor is responsible for assisting management in the operational oversight and coordination of the Retail, Events, Bar, Tattoo Studio, EVS, and Security staff as well as daily attraction operations and special programming which involves the guests of The Punk Rock Museum.

The Supervisor will ensure high levels of guest satisfaction as well as the safety of everyone in the exhibit through effective management of guest flow and staffing.

Other related duties and areas of responsibility include supervising and coordinating at special events and concerts, delivering tours and training, performing inventory, managing coat check operations, and setting sales goals.

Duties and Responsibilities

The consistent responsibilities of the Supervisor include, but are not limited to, the following :

  • Assist with managing personnel and their productivity. Implement and enforce efficiencies in scheduling and staffing that maintain guest service standards.
  • Maintain and implement practices that promote and preserve The Punk Rock Museum’s desire to be a best place to work.
  • Partner with other leaders to create and train staff on best practices and standards.
  • Ensure staff receive training and support to provide opportunities for growth and development. Areas of training include guest services, quality control, and safety (both regulatory and internal).
  • Foster an environment where departments partner with one another to include effective cross-department communication, identifying efficiencies, and performing regular cross-training.
  • Plan and participate in special events and programming that have impact across multiple departments.
  • Analyze, understand, and communicate customer feedback to senior leadership. Suggest and implement ways to improve ratings specific to products.
  • Assist in maintaining inventory management records of supplies, tools, and guest giveaways.
  • Maintain high standards of organization and cleanliness at all times to maintain a pleasant environment for all guests.
  • Perform job responsibilities with a creative flair that elevates the exhibition narrative.
  • Cross-train into other areas as required.
  • Respond to injuries and emergencies appropriately.
  • Employ a knowledge of common safety and security hazards and applicable precautions to establish a safe and secure environment.
  • Ensure guests, team members, and any other individuals or groups on site comply with Company and OSHA standard workplace safety protocols (Occupational Safety and Health Administration).

Model safe work practices for others.

Management Responsibilities

  • Participate in the hiring and training of staff.
  • Organize and oversee the work and schedules of staff.
  • Assist with performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
  • Assist with the discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with Company policy.

Required Education and Experience

  • At least 21 years of age.
  • At least three years of operations or customer service management experience.
  • Supervisory personnel must attain and retain on their person at all times a Non-Gaming Sheriff’s Card and an Alcohol Awareness Training Card (commonly known as a TAM Card).
  • Supervisory personnel must also attain and retain on their person at all times a Southern Nevada Health District (SNHD) Health Card.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • At least five years of experience in operations or customer service management.
  • Extensive knowledge of Punk Rock music and culture.
  • Adult + Child + Infant CPR, AED, and First Aid certification.
  • Bilingual particularly, but not limited to, English and Spanish.

  • Must be able to manage multiple tasks and remain calm in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Must be able to demonstrate an outgoing and welcoming style.

  • Supervising personnel at offsite events may be required.
  • Travel may be required, including overnight travel.
  • This position works primarily in an indoor setting with exposure to noisy environments, dim lighting, and enclosed spaces.

Work may be performed in outdoor settings as well.

  • This position must access all areas of the facility and withstand prolonged standing, stretching, bending, kneeling, lifting, and carrying.
  • This position must move in different directions and positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces.
  • May require bending and reaching in areas from floor level to six feet high.
  • The position may remain in a stationary position for prolonged periods.
  • The position requires repetitive motions that may include the wrists, hands, and / or fingers.
  • The position must position or move objects up to 20 pounds.
  • Requires the ability to distinguish letters or symbols as well as utilize effective eye / hand coordination.
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced, high-sensory, and high-energy environment.

Additional Requirements

This is a full-time position which requires a flexible schedule which includes weekdays, weekends, evenings, holidays, and music festivals.

Overtime may be required as business needs dictate.
