Director of SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting

Archer is an aerospace company based in San Jose, California building an all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft with a mission to advance the benefits of sustainable air mobility. We are designing, manufacturing, and operating an all-electric aircraft that can carry four passengers while producing minimal noise. What You’ll Do

• Oversee all aspects of external financial reporting as the Director of SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting.
• Ensure the accuracy, compliance, and quality of financial reporting, with deep expertise in technical accounting and SEC regulations guiding the organization through complex financial matters.
• Manage SEC and technical accounting matters in partnership with internal teams and third-party experts; implement best practices to build first-class processes.
• Subject matter expert on US GAAP and SEC regulations for the preparation and filing of SEC reports; apply related authoritative literature to public company reporting.
• Prepare technical accounting memos and analyses as needed.
• Lead coordination and preparation of quarterly and year-end external financial reports, including quarterly earnings releases, 10-Qs, 10-Ks, and related press releases and earnings scripts.
• Prepare and / or review technical accounting items such as stock-based compensation, warrants, EPS, equity roll forward, and cash flow statements.
• Own certain SOX controls and assist Investor Relations with materials for investor engagement.
• Provide technical accounting training to finance and accounting teams to ensure strong understanding of accounting principles and compliance requirements.
• Lead and develop a high-performing team with a focus on continuous learning in a fast-growing public company environment; collaborate across functions to achieve objectives.
• Foster proactive relationships with key stakeholders, including external and internal auditors, Legal & Compliance, IT, HR, FP&A, Supply Chain, and Engineering.
