Neonatology Physician

A top facility in Richmond, Virginia is seeking Board-Certified / Eligible Neonatologists for in-house 24 / 7 coverage starting late July 2025 through at least August 1, 2025 , with potential for extension under new group management.

Position Highlights :

NICU Level III 40 Beds

Avg Census : NICU 4.3, Newborn Nursery 24.2

Annual Deliveries : 4,250

Daily Patient Load : 5 6

Responsibilities & Skills Required :

In-house 24 / 7 coverage :

Day Shift : 7 : 30 AM 5 : 00 PM (2 MDs)

Night Shift : 5 : 00 PM 7 : 30 AM (1 MD)

Procedures / Modalities :

High-frequency ventilation (HFOV, HFJV)

Inhaled nitric oxide

Pediatric surgical patient management

Therapeutic hypothermia with aEEG

Pediatricians cover well babies

Subspecialty support includes onsite cardiology and pediatric surgery (no ECMO or cardiac surgery beyond PDA ligation)

Requirements (No Exceptions) :

Active Virginia Medical License & DEA

Clean malpractice & background history

Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neonatology

Certifications : PALS, NRP, ACLS Required

Transition Note :

This site is expected to transition from Envision to Pediatrix on 8 / 1 / 2025 , with ongoing need for locum support. Providers already privileged may be eligible to continue under the new group.
