We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Senior Tax Accountant to join our team. This is a permanent position where you will be responsible for managing and facilitating the accurate preparation and filing of our company’s state and federal tax forms. The ideal candidate for this role is a professional with a strong understanding of tax laws and regulations, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. This role will be pivotal in maintaining our financial health and making sure we meet all regulatory and compliance standards.
Responsibilities :
1. Prepare and review federal and state income tax returns and ensure compliance with payment, reporting, and other tax requirements.
2. Analyze financial documents to identify potential tax savings and liabilities.
3. Develop tax strategies to assist the company in being fiscally efficient.
4. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax laws and regulations, and ensure the company is in compliance with all tax laws.
5. Collaborate with auditing staff to ensure internal controls are in place and operating effectively.
6. Assist in financial planning and analysis, including budgeting, forecasting, and risk assessment.
7. Document and maintain complete and organized records of all tax papers.
8. Provide support during tax audits.
9. Respond to notices from tax authorities in a timely and professional manner.
10. Collaborate with management to improve accounting procedures and internal controls.
Qualifications :
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required. A Master’s degree or CPA designation is preferred.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a tax accounting role with a strong understanding of federal and state tax laws and regulations.
3. Proficient in tax preparation software and experience with financial management systems.
4. Strong analytical skills with the ability to read and interpret complex financial data.
5. Excellent attention to detail and the ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in performing all essential duties.
6. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
9. High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
10. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
