Transit Division Manager
This position oversees daily operations of the Transit Division by ensuring complete staffing of all services, monitoring the efficiency of bus routes, responding to incidents, and supporting the operations staff in enacting training and standard operations procedures. This position also ensures the Transit fleet is maintained and ready to operate daily. Supervision is given to Transit Operations management staff; supervision is received from the Division Director of Transit Services.

Ability to maintain County Authorized Driver privileges
Ability to gather and analyze transportation data
Ability to maintain onboard technology systems, such as security cameras and vehicle location hardware
Advanced knowledge of Federal, State, and local laws, regulations, and policies concerning public transportation services
Knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance
Strong clerical and record-keeping skills, including the ability to accurately perform basic math and financial functions
Ability to accurately compile and prepare statistical data and reports
Ability to effectively access and utilize Microsoft Office Suite, e-mail, spreadsheet and other systems and equipment, and to learn new software as it is required
Ability to effectively organize work, determine priorities, including the ability to make decisions and complete assigned duties with minimal supervision
Discretion and good judgment in dealing with sensitive and personal information with ability to maintain appropriate confidentiality
Strong and effective spoken and written (English) communication skills including the ability to clearly explain policies and procedures and to utilize 2-way radio communications in accordance with FCC regulations
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, representatives of cooperating agencies and the general public, with special sensitivity to the needs and concerns of older adults and people with disabilities

While working in this position, the employee is required to constantly sit, lift up to 20 pounds, push up to 40 pounds, pull up to 40 pounds, and perform repetitive motions; frequently walk, lift between 20 to 50 pounds, push over 40 pounds, pull over 40 pounds reach and drive; occasionally climb, stoop, lift over 50 pounds
While working in this position, the employee is required to constantly work indoors, frequently work outdoors, walk on uneven ground, and in a dirty / dusty environment
This position is subject to post-accident, reasonable suspicion, return to duty and random drug and alcohol testing.
