Dental Hygienist
Job Description :
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Dental Hygienist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing quality dental care and promoting oral health to our patients.
This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a passion for improving patients' oral hygiene habits.
Responsibilities :
- Conduct thorough dental cleanings, including scaling, root planing, and polishing, to remove plaque, tartar, and stains.
- Perform dental examinations to assess patients' oral health and identify any signs of periodontal disease or other dental issues.
- Take and develop dental x-rays to aid in diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, including brushing, flossing, and nutrition, to prevent dental problems and maintain optimal oral health.
- Administer fluoride treatments and apply dental sealants to protect patients' teeth from decay.
- Assist the dentist during procedures by providing necessary instruments and materials, suctioning, and maintaining a clear field of vision.
- Maintain accurate patient records, including treatment plans, progress notes, and medical histories.
- Sterilize and disinfect dental instruments and equipment to ensure patient safety and infection control.
- Collaborate with other members of the dental team to provide comprehensive care and achieve the best possible outcomes for patients.
- Stay informed about advancements in dental hygiene techniques, equipment, and technology to continuously improve patient care.
Qualifications :
- Associate's degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program.
- Valid state dental hygiene license and current CPR certification.
- Strong clinical skills and knowledge of dental hygiene procedures and techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients of all ages.
- Attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate patient records.
- Compassion, empathy, and a genuine desire to help patients achieve and maintain good oral health.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to continuing education and professional development in the field of dental hygiene.
