Job description

Responsibilities :

  • Oversee and manage the organization's payroll functions to ensure timely and accurate payroll processing.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
  • Maintain and update payroll systems and records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Supervise payroll staff and coordinate workflow to meet deadlines.
  • Review and approve payroll calculations, deductions, tax filings, and direct deposits.
  • Collaborate with HR and Accounting departments to ensure payroll data aligns with benefits, bonuses, and other compensation.
  • Handle employee payroll queries and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Prepare and review reports related to payroll (e.g., payroll summaries, tax reports, audit reports).
  • Manage year-end processes including W-2s, 1099s, and other tax documents.
  • Lead system upgrades, implementations, and integrations with payroll software.
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting payroll costs.
  • Ensure timely remittance of payroll taxes and benefit contributions.
  • Develop and implement payroll policies and procedures for efficiency and compliance.
  • Stay up to date with changing payroll laws and regulations.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field (preferred).
  • 5+ years of payroll experience, including at least 1 year in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Proficiency with payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex, Workday, etc.) and Microsoft Excel.
