NCS is seeking motivated individuals to join our Technology Services unit. This entry-level position will participate as an integral member of the Technology Services Unit. Under supervision, assists with basic PC / telecommunications support to customers, including the installation and configuration of hardware and software; accurately documenting symptoms and problems and relaying this information to the support team. Provides basic problem resolution over the phone, remote desktop, in-person support; and performing related work as required. Advises, trains, and assists users on how best to utilize systems. Creates and manages databases, procedures, and documentation, including equipment inventory of utilized and spare equipment. Helps meet the demands of a fast-paced technology environment and be a part of an organization that makes a daily difference in Fairfax County communities.

Employment Standards
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS : Any combination education, experience, and training equivalent to graduation from high school; plus either one year of specialized experience or two years of general experience in the installation and troubleshooting of personal computers, network / telecommunications systems; or possession of an associate's degree in computer science or related field.
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED : Valid driver's license
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS : The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check, a Child Protective Services Registry check, and a driving record check to the satisfaction of the employer.

Work is generally sedentary in nature; however, incumbent may be required to do some walking, standing, bending, and carrying of items up to 25 pounds. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing. Ability to operate keyboard-driven equipment. Sufficiently mobile to attend meetings at various locations and make presentations to county staff and community. All duties performed with or without reasonable accommodations.
