Stantec is seeking a Project Engineer - Roadway in our Clearwater, Florida office. We seek a team player who desires a highly collaborative work environment, has excellent client and communication skills, and strong design capabilities. We seek a candidate with expertise with highly complex and specialized roadway and drainage design including limited access tolled and non-tolled facilities and arterial roadway design.

Your Key Responsibilities :

Responsible for design and post design efforts on roadway and / or drainage plans.

Engineer roadway and drainage design projects including limited access tolled, interstate, rural and urban roadway reconstruction, resurfacing, complete streets, and trail / sidewalk projects.

Lead production teams in roadway plans preparation and development efforts.

Prepare geometric analysis and calculations in support of designs and establish design criteria, methods, practices, and procedures.

Review plans for conformance with scope of services and design standards.

May be responsible for the review and sealing of own projects.

Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.

Interaction with Stantec clients, including marketing efforts.

Develop and / or review policies, methods, practices, and procedures; and review plans for conformance with FDOT, County, and municipal design standards and criteria.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials :

Experience in designing roadway design projects. Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) design experience a plus.

Comprehensive understanding of all phases of project document production.

Ability to effectively discuss project issues with clients and reviewing agencies.

Possesses excellent time-management skills; Thorough understanding of task assignment and schedule, budgeting and efficient use of time and resources.

Thorough understanding of design standards / criteria, codes, legal and design requirements in relevant jurisdictions.

Proficient in Microsoft (MS) Office Suite.

Experience in Temporary Traffic Control (MOT) analysis and plan development.

Experience in roadway pavement design analysis and development.

Ability to work in AutoCAD, MicroStation, Geopak and 3D Engineering Modeling software.

Experience in the use of Microsoft Project and / or Primavera P6 preferred.

Experience developing, negotiating, and managing scopes, schedules, and budgets.

Education and Experience :

Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Civil Engineering.

Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensed in the State of Florida or the ability to attain within 6 months.

5+ years related experience in Transportation roadway design.

Position will primarily work in an office setting; may require some field work.

Pay Transparency : In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
