Description :
The Technician role is suited for a highly self-motivated individual who is ready to work in a fast-paced environment. The primary responsibility of the Technician will be the creation of 3D parts, complex assemblies, and drawings using SolidWorks to support the engineering group in the quoting, design and fabrication process.
Drafter Responsibilities :
- Handle complex designing and drafting assignments under minimal supervision.
- Create drawings, models, and BOMs from written and verbal specifications obtained from Engineers.
- Work with Engineers regarding model accuracy, design, drafting standards and design documentation.
- Work closely with Engineers to ensure coordinated effort is maintained.
- Complete project responsibilities within scope, budget and schedule.
- Review drawings for completeness and accuracy.
- Maintain all revisions of project drawings.
- Develop 3D models by analyzing prototypes and 2D drawings.
- Examine and check engineering drawings for compliance with cited specifications.
- Provide timely technical assistance and solutions to the team.
- Participate in project meetings and conference calls as required.
- Prepare engineering documents for customer submittal.
Drafter Qualifications / Skills :
High proficiency in 3D parametric modeling software, SolidWorks preferredAbility to create 2D mechanical and structural drawings from 3D modelsKnowledge of Microsoft Office ApplicationsAbility to work under pressure with deadlines while having to multi-task multiple prioritiesStrong verbal and written communication skillsAttention to detailStrong work ethicAbility to work successfully and collaboratively with a teamAbility to read and understand blueprintsRequirements :
Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements :
Associate’s degree in computer-aided drafting and design, engineering technology or similar technical degreeAt least one year of experienceKnowledge of manufacturing processes and how it relates to designHands on experience with 3D parametric modeling tools (SolidWorks, Inventor, Fusion 360, PTC Creo, etc.)
