Supervisor, Payroll
Position Summary :
The Supervisor, Payroll is responsible for providing payroll delivery expertise that provides a service that meets current and future needs of JetBlue's 26,000 U.S.-based crewmembers. The Supervisor, Payroll is responsible for the day-to-day operations in the Payroll Department and ensures payrolls are compliant, accurate, risk adverse and timely. The Supervisor is responsible for overseeing a team of crewmembers and co-managing / partnering with three (3) Payroll Supervisors.
Essential Responsibilities
- Manage the processing of end-to-end payroll processes including reviewing team checklists and files for completeness including electronic time clock data management
- Manage the day-to-day BAU activities of payroll specialists including the hotline, ticketing system and e-mail responses
- Lead and mentor a team of payroll specialists across multiple locations, providing guidance, and leadership to ensure operational excellence
- Review semi-monthly and weekly U.S. Domestic payrolls before final close of each payroll in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance
- Demonstrates knowledge of payroll legislation, tax, financial, regulatory and internal controls, governance, risk management and crewmember policy, including IRS / requirements and other important payroll submissions
- Manage payroll specialists to ensure all payments / files are processed in a controlled fashion whilst adhering to deadlines
- Managing up and pull in subject matter specialist resources when required for conversations or deliverable creation purposes
- Ensure the payroll service remains compliant with all relevant requirements, including controls, JetBlue policies, collective bargaining agreements (CBAs), regulations and legislation
- Support the Payroll Transformation & Projects Team with the implementation of projects and change affecting the Payroll team, processes, and systems, ensuring no / minimal disruption to service
- Ensure timely resolution of escalated or complex issues, requests for exceptions to standard processes, service delivery issues
- Ensure that Risk Events or Issues are promptly reported to the Payroll Manager
- Liaise with working groups to agree file timelines & and formats to support compensation programs
- Able to handle sensitive information and maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Demonstrate a clear set of leadership behaviors to create an environment for colleagues to thrive and deliver to a consistently excellent standard
- Assist Payroll Manager with ad hoc projects

Minimum Experience and Qualifications
Associate's degree; OR demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities with a combination of a High School Diploma / GED and at least two (2) years of previous related work experienceThree (3) years of payroll experienceTwo years (2) of management experienceAbility to multitask and work autonomouslyAbility to work in a fast-paced environment including working additional hours as necessaryProficient in Microsoft Office suiteExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong attention to detailAvailable for overnight travel (10%)Must pass a pre-employment drug testMust be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is locatedAuthorization to work in the US is required. The base pay range for this position is between $95,000.00 and $105,000.00 per year.
