Position Description
The Field Engineer (FE) works directly for the Superintendent and is expected to exercise judgment and discretion in recommending and implementing policies and procedures, handling a wide variety of field matters. The FE is typically preparatory to roles such as Office Engineer or Project Engineer. The primary purpose is to proactively assist the Superintendent in front-line field management. The FE is responsible for the majority of layout on a project, supervision of trade workers and subcontractor employees, lift drawings, safety and quality control responsibilities. While most time is spent in the field, some duties may require time in the field office. This is a safety sensitive position.

Moderate Work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 25 pounds of force frequently, and up to 10 pounds of force constantly. The role requires walking, kneeling, sitting, crouching, reaching, stooping, reading, speaking, pushing, pulling, lifting, standing, and typing. Reading blueprints and taking field measurements is common. Climbing, balancing, stooping, and occasional exposure to heat, cold, and outdoor elements are expected.
