As a Registered Nurse in Orthopedic Surgery, you will provide post-operative care for patients undergoing elective joint replacements and surgeries related to spine and traumatic fractures. General Summary of Position

Unit Highlights

Nurses on 5C provide post operative care to patients who receive elective joint replacements, spine surgeries, and those needing fixation after traumatic fractures. This unit also provides the opportunity to care for patients undergoing Gender Affirmation Surgery!

5C is one of three units at MedStar Washington Hospital Center to receive the PRISM award from the Academy of Medical Surgical Nurses. PRISM stands for Premier Recognition in the Specialty of Med-Surg and recognizes exemplary practice on med-surg units across the nation.

Key Responsibilities

As a Clinical Nurse you will deliver proficient nursing care to patients and families whose needs range from uncomplicated to highly complex. You will identify current and potential complex problems of specific patient populations and critically analyzes trends and changes in patient status and plans appropriate interventions directly or indirectly through other nurses.

Qualifications

  • ADN, BSN, MSN, or CNL from an accredited School of Nursing required.
  • Prior Clinical Nursing Experience preferred.
  • Active DC RN License and Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers required.
  • This position has a hiring range of $39.00 - $63.406
