Hospitalist Physician at Odyssey Staffing summary :

A Hospitalist Physician provides comprehensive care to hospitalized patients during night shifts, typically managing 8-10 patients at a time without advanced practice provider support. They perform critical care consultations as needed and are responsible for initiating care until emergency services arrive, while having access to interventional radiology and anesthesia support. The role requires a valid Minnesota medical license and may involve occasional procedures, although these are infrequent.

  • BC IM
  • 7 days in a row. Monday through Sunday every 3rd week.

Hours : 8pm to 8 am

  • Night : 8-10 patients max, no APP help
  • ICU is open. Critical care consultation available during weekday morning daytime hours in person, available by phone 24 hours per day seven days per week

    • Hospitalist should initiate until Emergency Department provider and team arrive

  • No procedures are required, if hospitalist is credentialed for procedures : LP, paracentesis, thoracentesis, central venous catheter, incision and drainage of superficial abscess, Etc are rarely needed. Interventional Radiology is available to assist during the day and ER provider / anesthesia available to assist at night.
