Overview
We are seeking a Business Systems Engineer to architect, build, and optimize PayNearMe's enterprise tools ecosystem, with Salesforce as a core platform. This role will ensure our business systems are scalable, reliable, and cohesive across departments, supporting key initiatives such as quote-to-cash optimization, billing automation, client onboarding automation, revenue operations support, and contract lifecycle management. The ideal candidate blends deep Salesforce expertise with a strong background in enterprise integration, automation and system governance.
Responsibilities
- Enterprise Tooling & Integration : Design and develop integrations between Salesforce and key business systems (PayNearMe's platform, Zendesk, Jira, Gong, etc.). Implement automation and data synchronization using APIs, middleware, and / or low-code platforms. Define data flow standards, mapping, and orchestration patterns to reduce duplication and improve visibility across teams. Partner with business stakeholders to evaluate and implement new SaaS tools within governance frameworks.
- CRM Platform Engineering (Salesforce) : Partner with Revenue Operations and Finance to design and implement an automated quote-to-cash system, including pricing approvals, order creation, distribution workflows, and billing automation. Partner with Legal and Finance to design and implement contract request-to-execution and renewal management automation. Partner with Client Services and Project Management to select and integrate an implementation management solution that integrates with Salesforce and other existing business systems. Partner with Customer Support to evaluate a migration from Zendesk to Salesforce Service Cloud and drive either the migration or enhancement of the existing integration to optimize processes such as bulk communications and incident notification workflows. Build processes and controls to reinforce Salesforce as the source of truth for account names, contacts, contracts, access controls, pricing, etc. Maintain and enhance Salesforce architecture, data models, and automation. Conduct code audits, refactor Apex classes, and enhance test coverage. Migrate Workflow Rules / Process Builder automations into Salesforce Flows. Review and optimize Salesforce object architecture (standard / custom objects, relationships, record types, picklists). Simplify automation and integrations to reduce data duplication and optimize system performance.
- Project Management Platform Engineering (Jira) : Partner with Technical Program Management, Product, and Engineering to improve product development planning capabilities, development velocity, and portfolio transparency by designing and implementing Jira issue, field, and workflow changes that reflect our standard operating model. Build automations and integrations between Jira and downstream systems like Gitlab, Confluence, Playwright, and Salesforce to streamline processes.
- Data Analytics : Build systems that improve real-time visibility into key business metrics at various levels of the organization by combining inputs from multiple sources (Salesforce, Intacct, Jira, Zendesk, and PayNearMe's platform).
- Tooling Architecture & Governance : Establish and enforce best practices for configuration management, code quality, and naming conventions. Partner with IT and Security to implement backup protocols, permission sets, platform encryption, and event monitoring. Ensure alignment with compliance and audit frameworks.
- DevOps & Release Management : Implement Git-based CI / CD pipelines across enterprise systems (Salesforce DevOps Center, GitHub Actions, etc.). Develop automated testing and deployment workflows. Coordinate sandbox refreshes, environment management, and enterprise tooling release calendars.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration : Support PayNearMe's rapid growth by working closely with Revenue Operations, Finance, Customer Success, and Customer Support to automate key business processes. Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions that enhance productivity and insight.
Qualifications
