Senior Mechanical Engineer

JOB SUMMARY :

Provides technical leadership in a variety of disciplines (Mechanical, Electrical, Controls). They will be expected to provide improvised technical solutions to irresolvable, unrecoverable or otherwise problematic and challenging situations in a diverse assortment of venues and systems throughout the Universal Parks and Resorts (UPR) properties. They must be able to apply theoretical and methodological engineering processes while adhering to relevant engineering and design standards in multiple electrical engineering specialty disciplines to achieve meaningful resolutions. The Senior Engineer must maintain configuration management of hardware and software documentation in accordance with Engineerings guidelines for proper archiving and security. They will provide guidance to the various engineering groups relating to engineering best practices, OSHA, NFPA, ASTM, ANSI, F24 and IEEE standards and code compliance along with UPR and Creative standards expertise and compliance. The Senior Engineer will also be called upon to provide technical leadership through troubleshooting and engineering support during routine business hours and after hours as required by business needs.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Provide technical leadership, guidance and mentoring to GAP Engineers and management. This includes teaching them how to use the Engineering System (ECN, TDs, DCN, Bulletins, SharePoint, etc.), and ensuring their documents are completed correctly.
• Provide knowledge of Venues Theory of Operations, feasibility for renovation, design, start-up integration, day-to-day operating, and improving operational readiness for all Venues.
• Lead as a subject matter expert on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic or control systems.
• Review all improvements to insure they are in compliance with all applicable codes, regulations and standards including : AISC, ASME, ASTM, ANSI, AWS, JIC, NEC, and OSHA, NFPA, among others.
• Develop and review FMEAs and Safety Risk Assessments for new and existing Venues and Scope of Work for contracts and projects.
• Assists Engineering Management in the creation and modification of policies / procedures for the Engineering Department while setting tone, establishing a vision, providing direction, and enforcing polices / procedures.
• Promote intra-departmental and external cooperation and or partnerships. Provide superior communication skills (Written and Verbal) with the ability to present clear, concise and appropriate information at all levels of UPR management. 5%
• Develop and conduct Acceptance Test Procedures for new and existing Venues.
• Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
