Position Purpose :

As the primary packaging resource for multiple brands, you will take the lead in managing complex packaging projects and supporting high-level technical initiatives. Your role will involve developing innovative packaging formats from concept through implementation, optimizing existing packaging to maximize value, and creating a competitive edge in our packaging solutions. Collaboration with various teams—Marketing, Sales, Retail, Finance, IT, R&D, Quality, and all Supply Chain functions (Procurement, Manufacturing, Customer Service, Logistics)—is essential to ensure packaging projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.

This is a hybrid role requiring three days a week in our Stratham, NH corporate office.

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities :

  • Package Development

Lead the ideation, design, prototyping, and development of innovative packaging solutions for new product lines, focusing on delivering memorable consumer experiences.

  • Translate creative concepts into functional, manufacturable packaging using your technical skills.
  • Oversee the development process from conception to industrialization, ensuring manufacturing viability.
  • Work cross-functionally to align design, feasibility, cost, timing, and quality.
  • Partner with Procurement to identify and onboard suppliers meeting technical and quality standards.
  • Manage timelines and coordinate daily packaging workstreams, escalating issues to keep projects on track.
  • Utilize industry insights and analytics to identify new opportunities for enhancing our offerings.
  • Project Management
  • Collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams with minimal supervision.

  • Manage multiple projects at various stages with shifting priorities and tight timelines.
  • Participate in resource planning and brainstorming sessions as needed.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills to handle multiple priorities and risks.
  • Technical Knowledge and Communication
  • Provide expert knowledge in selected packaging technology platforms and maintain an understanding of packaging principles.

  • Interpret and refine package testing standards to support design validation and implementation.
  • Optimize efficiencies by collaborating across the organization.
  • Exhibit clear communication skills for presenting ideas and analyses.
  • Understand ISTA and ASTM standards for packaging test methods.
  • Qualifications & Requirements :

  • Skills & Knowledge
  • Expert knowledge and hands-on experience with packaging materials and operations.

  • Proficient in MS Office and design software such as ArtiosCAD and CAPE.
  • Experience in new product development from concept to launch.
  • Creative, collaborative mindset capable of turning ideas into prototypes.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, demonstrating empathy, integrity, and the ability to build consensus.
  • Experience in an FDA regulated industry using cGMP practices; detail-oriented.
  • Education and Success
  • Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Industrial Design, or related field.

  • 6-9 years of experience in R&D, packaging engineering, or product design.
  • Experience in the consumer-packaged goods industry, particularly Food & Beverage, is a plus.
  • Proven ability to manage cross-functional projects from concept to commercialization.
  • Track record of delivering innovative, consumer-focused packaging solutions.
  • Other Requirements :

  • Minimal travel; less than 5%.
  • Minimal weekend work; less than 5%.
  • Occasional ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Total Rewards :

    Compensation Range : $87,705 - $114,021. Lindt USA's salary range reflects market rates based on our size, revenue, and location. Starting pay is determined by job-related skills, knowledge, experience, and market conditions. A bonus and / or long-term incentive may be included.
