Huntsman is seeking a Sr Corporate Process Safety Engineer supporting our Global Process Safety Center of Excellence Division located in The Woodlands, Texas. This position reports to the EHS Global Process Safety manager.

Job Scope

This position provides technical leadership for the Global Process Safety Center of Excellence, impacting the division's support plan, governance, and programs. It requires a self-starting engineer with a degree and over 15 years of experience in core process safety functions, including PHAs, HazOPs, LOPA, SIL assessment, facility siting, dispersion modeling, incident investigation, relief system design, and fire risk assessments.

Key Responsibilities

• Leadership : Lead and mentor PS subject matter experts across all organizational levels, define vision, and promote PS as a core expectation.
• Process Safety : Innovate and improve corporate PS programs and procedures, engaging with global EHS and engineering teams.
• Communications : Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills in English; additional languages are a plus.
• Program Implementation and Training : Support facilities in applying SIL, EHS criticality assessments, alarm management, and lifecycle management; develop and deliver PS training programs.
• Performance Monitoring : Monitor KPIs, analyze data, and develop improvement plans.
• Audit Protocols and EHS Auditing : Develop, maintain, and participate in global PS and EHS audits.
• Relief System and Fire Risk : Serve as SME in relief system design and fire risk assessment, guiding design verification and hazard identification.
• Incident Investigation : Lead investigations, analyze root causes, and develop corrective actions.
• Industry Engagement : Participate in industry committees, benchmarking, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications :

Skills and Knowledge : Proficiency in core PS elements, facilitation of HazOP / LOPA, and willingness to travel domestically (40-60%). Strong communication, flexibility, and field verification skills are required.

Preferred Qualifications : Knowledge of API standards, NFPA codes, Microsoft Office Suite, and experience with Salus and PHAST software.
