TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Long-Term Care RN in Rugby, North Dakota, 58368!

About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse (RN)

Must-Have :

1 year of experience in long-term care.

Experience with intravenous (IV) administration and tube feedings.

Description :

Department : Long Term Care.

Licensed for 26 beds; typical census of 20-21 residents.

All private rooms are available.

Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system used : Epic.

Patient-to-nurse ratios are 1 : 12 during day shifts.

Two nurses and one medication aide are present during day shifts.

One nurse functions as the treatment nurse.

During evenings, two nurses are available until 18 : 15.

Night shifts have a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1 : 20-22, with one nurse available from 22 : 00-06 : 00.

Common diagnoses include :

Dementia, cardiac disease, respiratory issues, COPD, MS, arthritis, diabetes, and other conditions.

IVs, G-tubes, suprapubic catheters, and other medical devices are used; however, there are no vents or tracheostomies currently.

Duties include :

Conducting assessments (daily, weekly, and monthly).

Fielding phone calls and performing charting tasks.

Providing wound care, rash care, pressure ulcer management, and skin care.

Administering medications as needed.

No titratable drips are used.

Common IV medications include Normal Saline and antibiotics.

Nurses participate in a daily morning huddle.

Charge nurses oversee activities on the floor.

Treatment nurses have the highest authority in-house.

There is an administrator on-call 24 / 7 for additional support.

An interdisciplinary team is available, including physical and occupational therapists, social workers, and dieticians.

Pharmacy access is available 24 / 7.

Most emergency medications can be accessed through the medication dispensing system on the floor.

Shifts consist of two 15-minute breaks and one 30-minute break.

Schedules are typically made one month in advance, with flexibility requested.

Weekend and holiday shifts are required, with options for modifications based on contract needs.

No standby requirements are in place.

Staff may float within the unit in different roles for coverage.

Dress code requires clean and professional attire.

Long hair must be pulled back, and excessive jewelry or piercings are not permitted.

Unit-specific orientation lasts about three full days.

No cancellation policy is listed.

The charting system is EpicCare Inpatient.

A Bachelor’s degree in nursing is not required.
