Must-Have :

• General Med / Tele skillset
• Stroke experience
• Cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Tracheostomy care
• Peripheral IV starts
• Chest tube management
• NGT placement
• Drain / tube management (including Dobhoff, PEG tubes, Hemovac, JP drains, flexiseals, foley insertion / management)
• PCA pump management
• Medication drip management including cardiac drips, heparin, blood products, intravenous fluids

Description : RN - MedSurg / Tele.

This position includes working in a 207 licensed bed facility with a focus on emergency care.

Travelers will primarily be hired as Med / Tele RN to cover Emergency Department holds.

Travelers will be cross-trained to assist in the Emergency Department with tasks such as IV starts and lab draws.

Common Emergency Department diagnoses include stroke, congestive heart failure, electrolyte imbalances, arrhythmias, respiratory arrest, sepsis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, falls, and motor vehicle collisions.

Patient ratios for RN are a maximum of 1 : 5, depending on patient acuity, with a CNA ratio of 1 : 7.

Support staff includes CNAs, receptionists, charge nurses, phlebotomists, RTs, and hospitalists available 24 / 7.

Technology used includes EPIC for electronic medical records and Alaris for IV pumps.

The position requires flexibility to float to other facilities as needed, while remaining within the scope of practice.

Weekend rotations will be required every other weekend.

Travelers must be willing to work approximately 75% of holidays.

RTO requests will allow for up to 6 days off, excluding holidays, with time added to the end of the contract if unable to meet contracted hours.
