Senior Process Safety Engineer

The SpaceX Bastrop Environmental Health & Safety team is seeking a highly driven engineer to establish process safety parameters across a variety of cutting-edge technologies and manufacturing processes. A successful engineer in this role will thrive in a high-paced collaborative environment, establishing themselves as a process safety SME with key stakeholders.

Responsibilities :

• Conduct Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs) of advanced chemical systems and recommend controls to manage risks as low as reasonably practicable
• Evaluate equipment overpressure / overtemperature scenarios and reaction hazards
• Perform / oversee Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), as well as risk assessments and hazard analyses on complex process equipment
• Implement and field validate safety critical instruments and interlocks during Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSRs)
• Implement a Process Safety Management (PSM) program and ensure compliance with all pillars of PSM
