Brand Overview – PJ Salvage

PJ Salvage is a leading California lifestyle brand known for sleepwear, loungewear and beyond. The brand focuses on comfort, style and a multi‑generational appeal, offering softest pajamas and lifestyle apparel.

Role Overview

The Senior Designer will be responsible for designing and developing specific categories for PJ Salvage branded sleepwear and lounge. The role demands creativity, strong organization, flexibility, conceptual thinking, and the ability to manage multiple tasks under time‑critical deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.

Responsibilities

Shop domestic and international markets to identify emerging trends, fabrics and design inspiration aligned with brand DNA and seasonal strategy.

Concept, design and develop relevant, trend‑right collections that reflect the brand’s aesthetic, positioning and target customer.

Create detailed technical sketches and comprehensive design packages to communicate design intent clearly to cross‑functional teams and vendors.

Drive the design process from concept through final sample, ensuring creative consistency, quality and timely execution.

Collaborate closely with Technical Design to achieve desired fit, proportion and overall aesthetic integrity across all categories.

Partner with Product Development, Production and Merchandising to ensure alignment on product strategy, calendar milestones and margin goals.

Communicate effectively with global vendor partners throughout development to ensure accuracy, quality and adherence to timelines.

Oversee sample management and ensure all prototypes, fittings and approvals are completed on schedule.

Participate in fit sessions, development reviews and milestone meetings to maintain design vision and execution.

Develop seasonal CADs, color palettes and presentation boards to support internal line reviews and go‑to‑market presentations.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or a related field.

Minimum 8 years of relevant design experience within the apparel industry.

Proven ability to design across multiple categories, brands and private‑label programs with agility and creativity.

Strong trend awareness and a refined eye for color, print, fabric and silhouette.

Demonstrated ability to identify market “white space” and translate insights into commercially viable product opportunities.

Exceptional organizational and time‑management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.

Collaborative and self‑motivated team player who thrives in both independent and cross‑functional settings.

Advanced proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and Microsoft Excel.

Hands‑on experience working within PLM systems, Gerber or comparable design and development software.

Additional Information

Hybrid role :

4 days in our Irvine, CA office.

Compensation :

$110,000 / yr – $125,000 / yr.
