Summary :
The Family Nurse Practitioner insures delivery of comprehensive health care in accordance with the philosophy, standard of practice, objectives and policies of The Institute for Family Health.
The Nurse Practitioner is responsible for diagnosis and treatment of common and chronic illness focusing on health promotion and disease prevention activities including patient education and counseling in the Institute of Family Health.
Requirements :
- Participates in defining, maintaining and interpreting standards of nursing practice in the Institute of Family Health.
- Prescribes medications and treatments
- Collaborates with other members of the team in the provision of regular health screening and other health promotion measures
- Makes home / hospital visits to clients and / or takes calls
- Participates in special projects and committees
- Participates in BIMC / PACC committees, as directed by Director of School Based Health Program
- Acts as preceptor for selected students and staff
Qualifications
Qualifications :
- BSN and MSN Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program
- License : Registered Nurse in New York State
- Board Certified
- Certification : Nurse Practitioner Certification & Registration, Certified or eligible for certification by recognized specialty organization, Current practice agreement
- Minimum 2 years or nursing experience and one year as a Nurse Practitioner.
- Demonstrated organizational, clinical, and interpersonal skills, as well as ability to problem solve using critical thinking
- Demonstrated basic computer skills including typing proficiency.
- Bilingual English-Spanish preferred.
