The Department of Physics and Engineering Science in the Gupta College of Science at Coastal Carolina University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level beginning Fall 2026 in support of its Engineering Science program. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Mechanical, Civil, Ocean / Coastal engineering, or a closely related field by the time of appointment . Proven expertise and research interests in the field of Ocean / Coastal engineering are required. Special preference will be given to applicants with interdisciplinary qualifications or experience. Applicants must be teacher-scholars who will establish research agendas that involve undergraduate students and teach introductory engineering courses, as well as upper-level courses in their area of expertise. The position also requires engaging engineering students through active advising and mentoring of extracurricular groups. Start-up funds will be available to establish a research agenda that incorporates undergraduate students.
