ACLS, Advanced Fetal Monitoring, BLS, NRP, StableUnit : Womens Services Meridian Hospital Flr 3# of L&D Beds : 10# of OR Suites on the unit for C-Sections : 2 ORs# of Triage beds : 4# of Postpartum beds : 10# of Births per month : About 120 per month on average.Do you follow AWHONN guidelines for ratios : AWHONN standards (primarily 1 : 1 in L&D and 1 : 6 couple care in PP).Common diagnoses / Types of patients : Laboring patients 32wks and greater, Elective Induction of labor, Medical Induction of Labor, Stable Antepartum Patients, Postpartum Patients, Well Newborns.Are RNs required to titrate drips : YesCommon titratable & / or set rate drips : Primarily Pitocin per protocol, mag, rarely insulin.Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift : Charge RN, Resource RN, and House Supervisor on each shift. Charge RN and Resource RN do not have an assignment.Are there nurse aids / surgical techs on this unit : CNA for floor (L&D / PP / NICU) 4-5 days and nights / week. Unit clerk 24 / 7.OB / Neonatologist in house 24 / 7 : OB hospitalist 24 / 7, midwives always on call.
