Johnson County Mental Health Center (JCMHC) is looking for qualified candidates to fill the position of Screen and Assessment Clinician . As a Community Mental Health center in the state of Kansas, JCMHC serves as a gate keeper for the state hospital system. Completing screens and assessments to best identify the most appropriate level of care and supports for an individual is a process we hold in high esteem.

The schedule for this position will be four-10 hour shifts with opportunities to complete some hours in a hybrid work model. First review of applications will be October 6th.

Job Description

Responsibilities of the position include :

Conducts state screenings and hospital level of care assessments to best determine least restrictive environment for client to receive recommended treatment and services.

• Provides mental health and substance use diagnoses.
• Assesses individual risk for suicide and other safety related concerns.
• Conducts care coordination to best fit individual's presenting needs.
• Communicates relevant information to individuals, families, and other stakeholders.
• Responds to emergency or crisis related requests from individuals and / or agencies.
• Reviews and updates diagnosis and level of care.

Johnson County has implemented a skill-based pay plan of up to $4200 annually for staff who have obtained licensure by the BSRB at the Clinical Level.

Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements :

Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology or Marriage and Family field; Kansas Behavioral Sciences licensure at the master's level in the area of focus and a valid driver's license with acceptable driving record required.

Preferred Requirements :

Kansas Behavioral Sciences license at the clinical level, one year of experience in the area of focus and proficiency in Spanish is preferred.

Johnson County Government requires reference / background screening for all positions. Specified criteria may vary by Department / Agency.

Physical, Environmental, and Special Working Conditions :

All County employees may be called upon to assist other departments / agencies in a declared emergency situation.
