This role provides the opportunity to design, implement, and maintain advanced control systems for critical infrastructure in a dynamic, technology-driven environment. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to align mechanical and electrical control systems with operational goals, troubleshoot complex issues, and ensure optimal performance of mission-critical facilities. The position involves both remote work and occasional on-site visits to data centers, supporting commissioning, testing, and integration of systems. You will also contribute to documentation, system upgrades, and training junior engineers, while staying current on emerging technologies and best practices in controls engineering. This is a high-impact role that directly supports operational efficiency and reliability across sophisticated infrastructure networks.
Accountabilities :
- Develop and maintain control sequence programming for mechanical and electrical infrastructure systems.
- Collaborate with operations, engineering, and IT teams to align control system functionality with project and operational requirements.
- Troubleshoot and repair control system hardware and software, minimizing downtime and maintaining optimal performance.
- Perform system diagnostics and root cause analysis, implementing long-term corrective actions for complex issues.
- Document engineering activities, including control logic diagrams, sequence of operations, system configurations, and change management records.
- Support commissioning, testing, and integration of control systems with BMS, SCADA platforms, and other facility monitoring tools.
- Maintain firmware and software, ensuring compatibility, security, and performance.
- Participate in critical incident calls, after-hours support, and provide technical guidance during maintenance or operational events.
- Mentor junior team members and promote best practices in controls design, troubleshooting, and automation.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Controls, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field preferred.4–8 years of professional experience in controls engineering, building automation systems, or industrial automation.Strong understanding of control sequence programming for mechanical and electrical systems.Experience with control system platforms such as Tridium Niagara, Siemens, Johnson Controls, Ignition, or similar.Familiarity with BMS, SCADA systems, and PLC programming.Experience with system integration protocols such as BACnet and Modbus.Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, control schematics, and sequence of operations.Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills in critical facility environments.Knowledge of industry standards and best practices in controls engineering and data center operations.Excellent documentation, technical writing, and communication skills.Commitment to continuous learning and staying current with emerging automation technologies.Ability to work remotely with occasional travel (~10%) to facility sites.Willingness to work flexible hours, including after-hours or weekends, as needed.Benefits
