Skills : Territory Management, Prospecting Skills, Strong Presentation and Negotiation Skills, Closing Skills, Developing Sustainable Client / Customer Relationships / Key Account Management
Must haves : Previous business development, sales experience (3-4 years minimum), Proficient in MS Office, Experience working with builders and contractors
Nice-to-haves : Knowledge of plumbing industry, understanding of bid specifications for residential and commercial construction projects, previous experience working with distribution / channel sales.
Previous experience working with Contractors / Sub-Contractors
Primary Job Duties :
- At the direction of the Sales VP, builds new business by leveraging Company lead generation efforts and working alongside Sales Agencies / Independent Reps and Distributors to generate new opportunities with high potential builders and contractors
- Expands existing business by delivering ongoing attention and service to distributors, builders and contractors
- Develops & adjusts content of sales presentations depending on type of opportunity
- Works with distribution / channel to develop sales opportunities and new orders Supporting efforts with product knowledge, price lists and product literature.
- Keeps management informed through activity and results reports via Salesforce CRM, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual territory analyses including input from Independent Sales Agencies and Distributors.
- Monitors competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, merchandising techniques, etc.
- Recommends changes in products, service, and policy by assessing customer needs, evaluating results and observing competitive activity
- Assists product management team by facilitating customer and channel feedback regarding new products.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications;
establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
- Prepared to spend 60%+ time in the field developing and delivering on sales objectives (10-12+ overnight stays per month)
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
