Job Description:

Pay Range: $34hr - $37hr

Responsibilities:

  • Drive procurement activities on assigned projects to deliver a competitive advantage within the North XX market and apply advanced sourcing and procurement best practices toward operational excellence.
  • Conduct RFQs, negotiate pricing and contractual terms.
  • Issue purchase orders and support the full procure-to-pay cycle.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable regulations when purchasing for U.S. Government and defense-related programs.
  • Follow up on purchase order acknowledgements, delivery status, and resolve delivery issues and schedule changes, ensuring the ERP system is updated.
  • Ensure all invoices are received promptly for accurate processing and cash-flow management.
  • Facilitate the resolution of accounts payable, logistics, and customs issues related to purchase orders.
  • Improve key performance metrics for the region, including on-time delivery, savings against budget, year-over-year deflation, payment terms, cost of failure, and liquidated damage claims related to supplier delays.
  • Develop reports, analyze spend, and apply sourcing and procurement methodologies to identify opportunities for cost reduction and cash-flow improvements.
  • Resolve contractual and supplier disputes, protecting business interests and engaging legal partners when required.
  • Develop strong relationships with engineering, operations, finance, project management, quality, and other internal and external stakeholders.
  • Lead and maintain meetings, conduct reviews, and communicate project status.
  • Collaborate with regional stakeholders and global sourcing members to interpret requirements, define, develop, and implement sourcing and procurement strategies that enhance business performance.

Requirement/Must Have:

  • Flexibility to travel as needed for domestic and international business requirements.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field.
  • Experience in commercial sourcing, procurement, supplier management, and contract negotiation, or equivalent experience plus a relevant master's degree.
  • Experience in purchase order execution.
  • Ability to be proactive and negotiate with vendors or suppliers.
  • Fundamental knowledge of sourcing and procurement processes.

Should Have:

  • Experience following up and expediting procurement processes from purchase to delivery.

Skills:

  • Proficiency with office productivity tools, including spreadsheet formulas, lookup functions, and pivot tables.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including presentation and report preparation.
  • Excellent negotiation and analytical skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with suppliers and stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage sourcing and procurement tasks across multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to assess supplier technical capability and capacity and to develop new suppliers.
  • Data analysis skills.
  • Knowledge of SAP.
