Description

  • Conduct thorough evaluations for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients, employing both observational techniques and standardized assessments.
  • Craft targeted treatment plans addressing short-term ambitions and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs.
  • Deliver individualized speech therapy sessions concentrating on communication, language acquisition, fluency, voice control, and swallowing.
  • Partner with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, and families to create a unified approach to patient care.
  • Educate patients and their families to encourage progress outside of our clinical setting.
  • Occasionally contribute to inpatient speech therapy assessments and interventions, ensuring seamless care continuity.
  • Maintain precise and timely documentation according to state, federal, and organizational standards.
  • Engage in continuous professional growth through ongoing education and peer engagement.

Education

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is not attained.
  • Certifications

  • State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Preferred : Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
  • Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of evidence-based interventions across all ages, with a focus on speech, language, and swallowing disorders, both developmental and acquired.
  • Exceptional communication skills to effectively engage with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Capacity to tailor therapy strategies to accommodate diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated clinical judgment and problem-solving prowess.
  • Competence in navigating electronic medical records and documentation protocols.
