Provide the expertise and knowledge that support the college curriculum and programs. Establish courses following accepted higher education standards, teach students using a variety of effective methodologies and provide engagement and support activities that encourage student learning. The role of the Instructional Faculty encompasses teaching and learning, academic advising, professional development and institutional and community service. The incumbent will teach a maximum load of (See Faculty Workload Guidelines) contact hours each semester in area(s) of competency and participate as a part-time instructor in the activities of the department, division, and college. Faculty may be assigned to teach in the modalities of face-to-face, hybrid, online (synchronous or asynchronous), or any combination of modalities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Teaching : Demonstrate skill and / or knowledge in teaching discipline; develop and use a syllabus for each course or laboratory; plan, develop, and use a variety of teaching methods and materials; evaluate students; keep accurate records; review, evaluate, and recommend textbooks and learning materials; teach courses at various times and locations; use equipment responsibly and assist with maintenance of instructional laboratories; demonstrate competence in use of technology in the classroom.
• Academic Advising : Maintain professional relationships; provide access to students via office hours and electronic communication; give advice regarding instructional or program-specific issues; create and maintain a college website with pertinent information; participate in advising activities as needed by the College and Department.
• Professional Development : Establish annual objectives; keep pace with developments in the discipline; learn technologies that support student learning; participate in evaluation processes.
• Institutional and Community Service : Participate in scheduled institutional service activities; participate in meetings and committees; adhere to all policies of the College; engage in activities to promote the mission of the College; assist in accreditation and curriculum revision; articulate courses and programs with other institutions.

Qualifications

Education : Associate degree or higher required. Must be Information Technology related (Graphic Design, Digital Photography, Motion Graphics, Coding and Robotics, AI, Podcasting). Bilingual or multilingual (Spanish) preferred. Copy of transcript conferring required degree and certification(s) must accompany application.

Experience : 3 years experience in one or more related fields within the last 5 years using a variety of technologies in real-world applications.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities : College-level online teaching experience and Apple Instruction certification preferred. Proficiency with Apple devices, iOS, Swift, and related tools. Knowledge of IT domains such as Cloud Computing, Cybersecurity, Coding, Networking, Graphic Arts, and Artificial Intelligence. Ability to work in a diverse environment, teach day or evening classes at multiple sites, and communicate effectively with diverse populations. Strong organizational and planning skills; sensitivity to students with diverse backgrounds and disabilities; ability to inspire and motivate students; self-discipline to manage others.
