Industrial Maintenance Technician – 2nd Shift (Monday–Friday, 3 : 00 p.m.–11 : 00 p.m.)

Who We’re Looking For

Hood Container Corporation is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team in Chicago, IL . If you're a proactive problem solver with strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills, we want to hear from you!

Starting Pay : $32.00 - $39.00 / hour based on skills and experience.

What You’ll Do

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair plant equipment, ensuring compliance with safety and operational procedures.
• Read and interpret electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics for troubleshooting and repairs.
• Work with variable speed AC / DC drives, servo motion controls, encoders, and PLC-controlled equipment.
• Conduct root cause failure analysis and recommend long-term solutions.
• Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities in the plant system.
• Support continuous improvement by enhancing machine reliability and maintenance practices.
• Follow OSHA and Hood Container safety standards, including energy isolation protocols.
• (Preferred) Work with vision and robotic systems.
• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.

What You Bring

Education & Experience

OR A relevant technical degree, certification, or equivalent from an accredited technical school, community college, or a formalized apprenticeship program may substitute for 3 years of the required experience.

OR Relevant military experience (e.g., Navy Machinist Mate, Air Force Electrical & Environmental Systems, Army Prime Power Production Specialist) with demonstrated mechanical, electrical, and technical proficiency is highly valued and may substitute for 3 years of the required experience.
