Job description

Account Resolution Representative

The Account Resolution Representative is responsible for attempts to bring delinquent borrowers current on their loans and to maintain a satisfactory delinquency ratio.

Determine the best course of action, consistent with collection standards, to increase the collection of payments from delinquent members. Establish contact with borrowers via telephone, mail or e-mail.

Conduct collection efforts respectfully but with persistence and persuasiveness.

Maximize the collections and / or recovery of credit union assets from delinquent and charged-off accounts by collecting on assigned delinquency portfolios for the 30, 60, 90 days and over in addition to collection on the mortgage portfolio.

Obtain from member the reason for delinquency in order to determine whether to extend payments, to refinance or modify the loan, to repossess, foreclose, or to charge-off the loan.

Counsel the member on the various programs that are available when there is a hardship situation.

Correspond with auction for remarketing of repossessed collateral. Provide for safekeeping of collateral and make recommendations for its liquidation.

Prepare documents for Attorneys when legal action is required.

Maintain complete and current knowledge of all federal and state consumer credit collection laws and regulations, i.e. SCRA, FCBA, UCC, BK Laws, FDCPA, TCPA AND FCRA.

Knowledge and ability to perform additional tasks as needed includes :

  • Repossession process
  • Account updates and checklist items
  • Posting delinquent payments
  • Processing GAP Insurance Claims
  • Charge-offs and referrals to outside agencies for collections
  • Foreclosures processing

Qualifications :

1 to 3 years of Member Services / Collections experience in a financial services space (i.e., credit union, bank, etc.)

MUST have experience working in the financial industry

Strong communication skills (written and verbal)

Ability to work well with members and KCU employees

Multi-tasking and problem-solving skills

Outstanding customer service skills

Pay and Benefits :

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00 / hr.
