Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU night position requiring recent CVICU and cardiac surgical experience in Washington with a compact or WA RN license.
Responsibilities
Work in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) within a hospital settingPatient population includes cardiovascular disease, pre / post Cath Lab and IR procedures, and fresh open heart surgeryCare involves specialized procedures such as CABG, OHS, AAA repairs, valvular repairs, and advanced cardiac device managementPatient ratios are 1 : 1-2 depending on acuityUses specialized equipment including IABP, Impella, VADs, pacemakers, ECMO, CRRT / Dialysis, and Maquet Datascope balloon pumpEpic EMR experience preferredNight shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 19 : 00 to 07 : 30Floating required to other units and facilities within the stateResponsibilities include care for complex cardiac cases, post-surgical recovery, advanced monitoring, and use of specialized cardiac equipmentStaff support may be limited due to unseasoned staff—experienced travelers are neededThree-day orientation with competency validation providedNavy blue scrubs requiredAll RTO must be disclosed at submission; minimal time off is permittedReturning former permanent staff from Providence (non-Swedish) must be separated for at least 3 months, and candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facilityFirst-time travelers with strong experience will be consideredHoliday coverage may be required as scheduledExpect annual and pre-start completion of required online modulesRequirements
Active WA or compact RN license requiredMinimum 2.5 years of recent CVICU experience within the last 6 monthsCurrent certifications : BLS, ACLS, and CRRT PrismaflexCardiac surgical experience required including skills in IABP and fresh open heart surgeryProficiency in advanced dysrhythmia management, hemodynamic monitoring, vascular sheath removal, IV therapy, ventilator management, and titration of vasoactive dripsEpic charting experience preferredMust provide at least 2 supervisory references covering 1 year within the last 3 yearsBenefits
