Home Health Aide - HHA - Orange County, NY

United Hospice, Inc. is a community-based, not-for-profit hospice, that provides care and support to patients and their families. We envision a community in which all individuals and their loved ones facing serious illness retain their dignity and hope while receiving the best care and support that hospice has to offer. We are currently Looking for NYS Certified HHAs to work in the communities of Orange County.

The rate for this position is $18.10 / hr. This is a fulltime position and is benefits eligible. We offer medical, dental and vision insurance, paid time off (vacation, personal days, sick days and extra holiday pay). We also have a 401(k) retirement plan with profit sharing, basic life insurance, an EAP program and other extra perks.

Qualifications :

• Certified as a NYS home health aide; must maintain certification by annually completing 12 hours of approved continuing education
• Working knowledge of basic first aid
• Basic understanding and commitment to the hospice philosophy of care
• Ability to work as a team member and use supervision effectively
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality concerning patient and family information
• Ability to relate to a diverse population and workforce in a personable and effective manner
• Ability to understand verbal and written directions
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally with patients, families and staff; able to write and document as needed
• Must possess computer and email skills
• Must have valid driver's license with insurance and access to automobile to drive from patient to patient homes
