Medical Assistant Prime Care Wpv

Baptist Health Medical Group is seeking a medical assistant for prime care Wvp in Paducah, KY. This is a part-time / PRN position eligible for a sign-on bonus. The sign-on bonus is reserved for new hires meeting eligibility criteria.

Essential duties and responsibilities include :

• Managing the coordination and flow of patients throughout the patient's visit to create an exceptional patient experience.
• Proactively checking the provider's schedule and reviewing information within the patient record to ensure that all required information is available prior to their visit.
• Proactively obtaining any missing information from the patient to ensure that medical records are accurate and up to date, which helps to ensure better care is being provided.
• Upon arrival, capturing patient's vital signs, past medical, social and family history, medication usage, and preferred pharmacy information.
• Ensuring compliance with all state and federal regulatory requirements including HIPAA / OSHA compliance.
• Responding to patient call backs and phone in prescription refill requests.
• Administering medication and injections, as directed by Physician / Provider.
• Performing phlebotomy on patients, as directed by the Physician / Provider.
• Performing EKG's, PFT's spirometry, nebulizer treatments, and ear irrigations, and other procedures, as required by the practice and directed by the Physician / Provider.
• Performing in-office lab testing such as glucose testing, strep screens, pregnancy tests, urinalysis, and HgA1c as directed by the physician / provider.
• Performing sterilization on instruments used for minor procedures / surgeries according to the CDC recommended guidelines.
• Maintaining all certifications / licensures as required by the scope of the role being performed.
